Surgical Technologist II

As a Surgical Technologist II at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a vital role in the perioperative team, assisting surgeons and anesthesiologists during surgical procedures. This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure.
Key Responsibilities- Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during surgical procedures, maintaining a safe and sterile environment.
- Prepare and organize operating room equipment and supplies, ensuring that all necessary items are available and within reach.
- Pass instruments and supplies to the surgical team, following established protocols and procedures.
- Assist with patient care during and after surgery, including positioning, draping, and retraction.
- Participate in preoperative and postoperative patient care, including preparing patients for surgery and assisting with recovery.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure that all necessary steps are taken to maintain a safe and efficient operating room environment.
- Assist with inventory management, restocking supplies, and maintaining a clean and organized operating room.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest surgical techniques and technologies.
- One (1) year of operating room or military equivalent experience in a scrub role within the last two (2) years or recent completion of an operating room training program.
- Surgical Technologist Certificate within six (6) months of hire from National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting OR National Center for Competency Testing Certificate - Technologist in Surgery within six (6) months of hire from National Center for Competency Testing.
- Basic Life Support certification.
- Ability to scrub all types of surgical cases except open heart.
- Weekend rotation and call required.
