Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Patient Access Representative to join our team at SSM Health Medical Group. As a Patient Access Representative, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth scheduling of patient procedures and gathering necessary demographic, insurance, and clinical information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gather and enter patient information into our database, resolving any issues related to procedure type, date, or location.
  • Schedule patient procedures efficiently, coordinating and communicating with patients, staff, and clinical resources.
  • Assist with insurance pre-certification and authorization, providing counseling to patients on pre-service requirements and instructions.
  • Perform clerical and reception duties associated with patient registration.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent, or 10 years of work experience.
  • No experience required.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching, and repetitive movements.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near and far.
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication.
  • Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, and gripping.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
  • Rare climbing.
