Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Customer Service Representative at Lowe's. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, processing transactions, and maintaining a clean and safe store environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service:
    • Provide SMART customer service at all times through the daily execution of Lowe's customer service policies, procedures, and programs.
    • Seek out customers to understand their needs and assist in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and/or loading merchandise.
    • Listen to and respond knowledgeably and promptly to customer and employee questions by taking them to areas of the store and walking them through projects when necessary.
    • Demonstrate sincere appreciation to customers.
    • Communicate information to customers regarding all stock, special order merchandise, feature benefits, application, and warranty information related to Lowe's programs.
  • Checkout Operations:
    • Use a cash register to process sales transactions, returns, and refunds according to company guidelines.
    • Provide proper monetary change to CSA Front End associates for register activities.
    • Remove security tags, verify product information, and bag merchandise for customers.
  • Store Maintenance:
    • Prepare register area at the beginning and end of shift by confirming functionality of registers and scanners and stocking register supplies.
    • Inspect returned merchandise for damages.
    • Enter and submit customer orders, print order tickets, verify receipts, and sign off on loading tickets.
    • Review and place online orders and returned merchandise in the appropriate areas.
    • Look up product information and competitor prices for products to verify price match.
    • Record all items that are used in the store on the store use lists.
  • Security and Safety:
    • Obtain safety bags from the cash office and monitor the amount of cash in the drawers to ensure it does not exceed requirements.
    • Monitor merchandise entering and leaving the store entrances and exits and assist customers or associates who trigger the alarm.
    • Detect common signs of shoplifting, theft, and other security risks, and promptly communicate them to management and/or Asset Protection.
    • Ensure compliance with housekeeping standards and programs (e.g., Zone Recovery) to maintain cleanliness and organization of store and working areas.
    • Maintain a safe and secure work environment, which may include conducting daily safety reviews, noting hazards, keeping aisles clear, and securing doors and gates.
  • General:
    • In addition to the above responsibilities, this individual is held accountable for other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Less than 1 year of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
  • Less than 1 year of experience using common retail technology, such as smart phones and tablets.
  • 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier.
  • Must be able to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs, including credit cards, installations, add-on sales, protection plans, and explaining warranties, product features, and benefits.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience as a head cashier.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience working in any department at a Lowe's retail store.
  • 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience in any field, including directing, delegating, evaluating, training, and coaching employees.
  • Less than a year of retail experience detecting common signs of shoplifting (e.g., merchandise hidden inside of containers, merchandise under carts, price labels switched).

Pay Range: $17.85 per hour
