About the Firm:

Freeman Mathis & Gary is a prominent national litigation firm, comprising over 350 attorneys across thirty-seven offices in twenty-one states. We are currently seeking a Senior Litigation Partner with expertise in Tort law to enhance our Fort Lauderdale, Florida office.

Position Overview:

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience. This role requires maintaining positive client relationships, ensuring confidentiality, and fostering a collaborative team environment.

Practice Areas:

Our Tort and Catastrophic Loss divisions represent corporations and insurance entities in various aspects of general liability, professional liability, and insurance coverage matters. We act as national and coordinating counsel for numerous carriers and corporations in their litigation processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial case analysis and formulate strategic plans.
  • Prepare and respond to discovery requests.
  • Take and defend depositions, draft legal motions, and attend court hearings.
  • Communicate legal options and potential outcomes to clients.
  • Establish and nurture client relationships.
  • Demonstrate effective negotiation, research, and communication skills, both verbally and in writing.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Must be in good standing and authorized to practice law in Florida.
  • Exhibit strong critical thinking abilities and a solid academic foundation.
  • Possess a strong sense of urgency regarding problem-solving and meeting deadlines.
  • Be knowledgeable, attentive, and proactive in approach.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, public speaking, and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented with a proven track record of achieving billable hour targets.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and effective in execution.
  • Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook; familiarity with iManage and/or OneDrive is advantageous.
