Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Support Specialist to join our team at Christus Health. As a key member of our healthcare staff, you will provide high-quality patient care under the supervision of physicians or registered nurses.

About This Role

In this role, you will perform various clinical duties, including obtaining vital signs, collecting specimens, and assisting providers with examination and treatment of patients. You will also be responsible for answering phone calls, recording messages, and scheduling test appointments and results.

Responsibilities
  • Provide basic patient care duties under the direction of a physician, including obtaining vital signs, weighing patients, and collecting specimens;
  • Assist providers in examination and treatment of patients and with procedures;
  • Answer phone calls, record messages, and assist providers with patient-related calls;
  • Schedule test appointments and results, as well as pre-certification;
  • Document all information related to patient care;
  • Administer medications and immunizations according to provider order;
  • Clean and restock exam rooms, clean equipment, and maintain sterile technique;
  • Perform routine clerical duties, including locating patient charts, filing, and completing routine forms;
  • Attend and complete required meetings and in-service training, and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Current LVN License in the state of employment or compact;
  • BLS certification;
  • Competency in performing lab procedures when necessary.
