Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and creative Line Pastry Cook to join our team. As a Line Pastry Cook, you will be responsible for preparing quality and consistent pastries for all areas while contributing to the success of our daily pastry operations. Your role will involve:

  • Preparing a variety of pastries, desserts, and confections, ensuring each creation is a feast for the eyes and a treat for the tastebuds.
  • Following established recipes and guidelines to maintain consistency and quality in every dish.
  • Working closely with the pastry team and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and timely service.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Assisting in the preparation and decoration of pastries for special events and occasions.
  • Receiving and checking orders and requisitions, ensuring all necessary ingredients are available.
  • Monitoring stock levels and reporting any shortages or issues to the Pastry Chef.
  • Contributing to maintaining technical worksheets, recipes, and costings.
  • Communicating effectively with team members and other departments to ensure coordination and timely responses to requests.
  • Staying informed about industry trends and competitor activity to bring new ideas and innovations to the kitchen.
  • Providing excellent customer service by addressing guest questions and feedback about dishes and kitchen services.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience working in a pastry section, bakery, restaurant, or similar environment.
  • Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are preferred.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Creativity and a keen eye for detail in pastry preparation and presentation.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse colleagues and guests.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and demands.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of health and hygiene.
  • Positive attitude and professional presentation skills.
