Job Overview:

The Inventory Control Specialist plays a crucial role in managing inventory accuracy and ensuring seamless operations within the organization. This position is tasked with overseeing all aspects of inventory management, including monitoring stock levels and effectively communicating inventory requirements to the management team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the implementation and maintenance of inventory cycle counting and physical inventory initiatives.
  • Conducts daily counts and reconciliations of selected part numbers and/or locations.
  • Collaborates in identifying solutions for inventory shortages, overages, and discrepancies.
  • Gathers, verifies, and presents statistical data to management regarding inventory-related trends.
  • Assists in data compilation for special projects as directed by the supervisor.
  • Ensures adherence to inventory management processes, procedures, and contractual commitments.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • 1 to 3 months of relevant experience and/or training preferred.
  • Experience in operating forklifts and cherry pickers/high lifts is advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Essential Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, operating instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Capable of writing routine reports and correspondence.
  • Proficient in physically counting items on shelves, racks, and pallets.

Work Environment:

This role requires the employee to frequently use hands for handling and manipulation. The employee will often be required to sit, reach, and communicate effectively. Physical demands include standing, walking, and occasionally lifting or moving items weighing up to 50 pounds. The position may involve exposure to moving machinery and varying temperature conditions.
