About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Life Safety Inspector to join our team at Berkshire Systems Group Inc. As a key member of our Fire Inspections Life Safety Division, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and compliance of our clients' fire alarm systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct on-site inspections of fire alarm systems to identify and document any issues or non-compliance
  • Collaborate with our team to develop and implement solutions to address any identified issues
  • Provide exceptional customer service to our clients, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices to ensure our clients receive the highest level of service
Requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to effectively use a smartphone for communication, documentation, and navigation
  • Strong customer service skills for on-site client interactions
  • Capability to read and interpret engineering drawings and operational manuals
  • Basic understanding of circuitry and experience using a multimeter
  • Strong multitasking and prioritization abilities
  • Detail-oriented approach to documentation and task completion
  • Excellent organizational skills for managing tools, equipment, and records
Physical Requirements
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to climb ladders and stairs, access elevated areas, and inspect system components installed at various heights
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and frequently bend, twist, reach, stoop, kneel, or crouch
  • Manual dexterity to handle materials
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds daily; heavier lifting with mechanical assistance or teamwork
  • Mobility: Comfort moving safely within confined spaces, crawl spaces, attics, and other installation areas
  • Vision: Visual acuity in at least one eye of 20/40 or better (uncorrected) or 20/70 with corrective lenses; ability to distinguish colors
