Senior Quality Assurance Specialist
Position Summary
This role is responsible for the thorough inspection, auditing, and reporting of materials, processes, products, and calibrated equipment utilized in the production of buttons, switches, and subsystems. The objective is to ensure compliance with established requirements and quality standards through the use of variable or attribute measuring instruments and techniques. The Senior Quality Assurance Specialist will collaborate with the Quality Representative/Quality Manager on various initiatives, including the Material Review Board (MRB) and the establishment of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for receiving, in-process, and final inspections.
The position requires minimal supervision, allowing the individual to prioritize tasks effectively based on business needs.

Key Responsibilities:
Essential functions include, but are not limited to:
- Enhancing and refining the inspection standards employed by Staco Systems to ensure alignment with customer quality requirements and certification standards (AS9100).
- Supporting the corrective action processes related to MRB or audit programs concerning final product inspections by providing comprehensive discrepancy reports.
- Validating production and incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting unacceptable materials.
- Completing AS9102 first article documentation packages and overseeing first article inspection activities while collaborating with other departments to resolve identified issues.
- Utilizing and understanding the accuracy limitations of various mechanical measuring tools (e.g., comparators, micrometers, calipers, hardness testers).
- Interpreting mechanical drawings and specifications, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Possessing a foundational knowledge of electronics and the ability to read schematics.
- Demonstrating proficiency in the use of electronic test equipment (DVM, Dielectric Tester, Power Supplies, Oscilloscopes).
- Providing design input for test setups aimed at enhancing production quality.
- Exhibiting excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
- A two-year technical degree or a combination of education and relevant experience.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, QS9000, or TS-16949.
- Experience with electro-mechanical products is essential.
- Prior experience in testing electrical products is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is necessary.
Knowledge Requirements:
This position necessitates a solid understanding of inspection processes, mechanical and electrical testing equipment, as well as a basic comprehension of manufacturing processes related to electro-mechanical assemblies.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to navigate the plant as needed.
- Capability to sit and operate a computer workstation and microscope.
- Good eyesight and manual dexterity.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with employees at all levels.
