Head Teacher - PreK-8 Special Needs

We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Head Teacher to lead our PreK-8 Special Needs program at League School for Autism. As a member of our dedicated team, you will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of children with autism.

About the Role:

The Head Teacher will be responsible for providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with moderate special needs. They will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), assess student progress, and provide educational and therapeutic interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement IEPs that cater to the unique needs of each student, incorporating the Massachusetts Frameworks and individualized goals.
  • Collaborate with the team to create comprehensive treatment plans, conduct assessments, and analyze data to measure student progress.
  • Implement individual and group behavior programs, including positive reinforcement strategies.
  • Provide curriculum content based on the Massachusetts Frameworks to implement each student's goals and objectives.
  • Attend classroom team meetings, annual IEP reviews, supervision, staff meetings, intake meetings, and other meetings as directed by Program Leader or administrators.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Special Education with current MA license in MODERATE Special Needs, and experience with Autistic Individuals preferred.
  • Safety Care, CPR, and First Aid certifications.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Must pass rigorous background checks, including nationwide fingerprint screening.

Salary and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this position is $60,850 per year, plus a $5,000 SIGN-ON BONUS, and additional compensation for Special Education license and Master's degree. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including 75% employer-paid health and dental insurance, short and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, tuition assistance, 403(b) retirement plan with employer match, professional development opportunities, paid Sick and Personal days, and school vacation weeks off.
