We are seeking a highly skilled Project Estimator to join our team at TEKsystems.

Job Description

A great opportunity has arisen to work with one of the largest and leading construction management companies in the US.

This position involves working with proposal teams in planning and executing new business price proposals, cost narratives, and pricing strategies.

The ideal candidate will perform and coordinate price proposal reviews before submittal to the client, assist in job setup, funds tracking, and reporting to the client, analyze and monitor subcontractor performance, evaluate service/product offerings and specifications, and more.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with proposal teams in planning and executing new business price proposals, cost narratives, and pricing strategies.
  • Perform and coordinate price proposal reviews before submittal to the client.
  • Assist in job setup, funds tracking, and reporting to the client.
  • Analyze and monitor subcontractor performance; evaluate service/product offerings and specifications.
  • Work with client contract managers and procurement specialists to resolve contractual matters.
  • Support project managers with contract budgeting.
  • Evaluate project status using A/E and CM cost and/or schedule information.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant contractual procedures and practices.
  • Prepare and issue periodic cost reports to senior technical staff.
  • Review cash flow prepared by junior technical staff and issue to senior technical staff.
  • With minimal supervision, review all change orders in accordance with the client's approval process.
  • Review all invoices for the project and ensure that junior technical staff codes the invoices where applicable and forwards them to the client's accounts payable department.
  • Provide procurement services for the client, where applicable, for construction and engineering services, including preparing RFP and bid analysis.
  • Overviews and reports to the client on contractor buyout of subcontract bid packages.
  • Attend cost meetings to review procurement status and change order status with the contractors and engineering teams.
  • Provide cost information on value engineering analysis.
  • Carry out an earned value analysis of the project on a periodic basis.
  • Review contractors close out administration and ensure they meet their contractual requirements.
  • Track and analyze project costs, including budgets, commitments, actuals, accruals, and forecasts.
  • Participate in the development and improvement of project controls systems.
  • Recommend improvements in systems, tools, and methods of project controls and project management.
  • Assist in analyzing project control requirements as part of the bid review process to ensure all cost control requirements are incorporated into individual contracts and purchase orders.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Construction, Engineering, Quantity Surveying or 6 years of relevant experience, plus four years relevant experience.

You must be highly articulate, have a clear and analytical approach to problem-solving, and strong decision-making abilities. You should also have excellent communication and presentation skills necessary to interface with external engineering, architectural, and construction firms, suppliers, the management team, and other organizations within client organizations.

A professional designation such as PMP, RICS, CCE, CCM, AIA, PE, ASPE, AACEI, CVS, AVS, LEED AP, or RA is preferred.

Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per year
