Become a Part of Our Team as a Lead Mechanical Systems Engineer

Plenty is on the lookout for a Lead Mechanical Systems Engineer with a strong background in HVAC and thermal systems tailored for critical mission and manufacturing settings. This role is essential within our Engineering division, focusing on the design, construction, and operation of mechanical systems in our indoor farms, playing a key role in our ongoing growth and achievements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with internal teams to define project criteria that align with Plenty's operational and technical goals
  • Oversee external consultants and contractors throughout the project lifecycle
  • Investigate and apply new technologies to foster innovation in HVAC design
  • Perform independent engineering assessments and cost analyses
  • Lead design evaluations and ensure thorough consideration of design alternatives prior to final decisions
  • Review and coordinate construction documentation for precision and compliance
  • Supervise equipment selection, installation, commissioning, and testing protocols
  • Manage financial resources and provide technical guidance for HVAC systems
  • Deliver solutions for projects with competing priorities
  • Mentor and train team members
  • Occasional travel as necessary
  • Additional responsibilities as required to support our dynamic growth
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an accredited institution
  • A minimum of 12 years of experience in architecture, engineering, and construction
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical engineering principles
  • Experience in equipment selection, design methodologies, and industry standards
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical capabilities
  • Preferred qualifications include PE and MSME credentials
  • Excellent communication skills for effective project collaboration
