Key Responsibilities

Primary Duties:

This Software Engineer IV position is integral to the Advanced Hypersonic Weapons & Guided Munitions Division (E20) at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD). The role involves conducting research and development analyses across various technical areas, including guided munitions, advanced fire control systems, and high-speed projectiles.

This position requires an active SECRET security clearance. A hybrid telework model is supported, allowing for up to 40% remote work, with the remainder conducted at the designated customer site.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in an engineering, scientific, or technical field from an accredited institution.
  • Experience:
    • A minimum of twelve (12) years of relevant technical experience.
    • At least six (6) years of specialized experience in sensor integration and fire control systems, including computer hardware engineering, software design, coding, and systems integration. Demonstrated capability in engineering complex systems with integrated software and hardware solutions is essential, particularly in relation to weapons systems and Navy programs utilizing agile software design methodologies, such as HTML, C/C++, Unix, and Linux.
  • Clearance Requirement:
    • Active US DoD SECRET Clearance is mandatory.
