Water Design Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Water Design Engineer to join our team at GBA, a multi-disciplined consulting engineering firm. The ideal candidate will have significant design experience and the ability to work in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide design expertise for drinking water system design and master planning projects
  • Perform the design of projects for both rehabilitation and new construction, and provide quality control reviews
  • Prepare calculations, design drawings, and specifications for drinking water system projects
  • Review existing reports and studies for information related to studies and design projects
  • Prepare written studies and project design technical reports
  • Coach and mentor staff
  • Assist in project pursuits and proposal preparation
  • Develop scope and fee proposals for potential projects
Requirements:
  • BS in Civil Engineering or closely related engineering degree
  • 8+ years of experience in water distribution system design, or similar experience
  • Professional Engineering certification in the State of Kansas OR Missouri or the ability to obtain them within six months of employment
  • Possess effective communication skills both written and oral
  • Must be able to work effectively both on a team and individually
  • Candidate must be adept at working on fast-paced projects
Travel:

Some overnight travel may be necessary for this position. Some occasional local day travel will be required.
