Job Description

Zurn Elkay Water Solutions is seeking a Senior Embedded System Firmware Engineer to join our team at the Cary, NC, Innovation Center. As a key member of our electronics hardware team, you will be responsible for developing and improving firmware for intelligent sensor commercial water control products.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and improve firmware for mechatronic designs with embedded microcontrollers, physical sensors, motors, solenoids, and data communication.
  • Work closely with cross-functional technical leaders in electronics, mechanicals, and project management on new and existing product development.
  • Research, develop, test, verify, and release firmware to production.
  • Translate high-level project and system requirements into well-defined hardware architectures.
  • Create and maintain clear project documentation, including design requirements, functional specifications, behavioral documents, BOMs, schematics, and test plans and reports.

Requirements:

  • Minimum bachelor's degree in electrical, electronic, or computer engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience in developing firmware, verifying, and troubleshooting power-managed electronic systems.
  • Experience with TI MSP 430, Microchip PIC, and ST Micro microcontrollers.
  • Knowledge of C, C++, Smart BASIC, Labview, Python, or related programming languages.
  • Experience with I2C, SPI, and UART communication protocols.
