The Logistics and Import Operations Specialist plays a crucial role in overseeing the entire supply chain process, which encompasses production, procurement, and logistics, with the aim of enhancing operational efficiency and productivity.

This position involves monitoring inventory levels and order statuses, as well as forecasting future supply requirements. The specialist will coordinate all import shipments, ensuring the company's purchasing and import processes are managed effectively to guarantee accuracy and timely delivery.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and streamline the movement of imported ocean containers.
  • Receive and verify shipping documents from international suppliers, ensuring accuracy in item and purchase order details.
  • Collaborate closely with transportation providers to ensure efficient execution of logistics processes, including securing shipping space, confirming estimated arrival times, and managing routing and customs clearance.
  • Proactively identify potential shipment issues and communicate with relevant stakeholders to resolve them, implementing effective solutions.
  • Ensure all import documentation is submitted to customs brokers for both ocean and air shipments.
  • Monitor shipment statuses to ensure customs and freight clearances are completed.
  • Coordinate the delivery of shipments from the port to the warehouse as directed by the Warehouse Manager.
  • Conduct audits of the 7501 Customs entry summary for each assigned shipment, ensuring compliance with established procedures.
  • Utilize appropriate HTS codes for imports.
  • Negotiate freight rates with transportation providers to achieve cost reductions and enhance service quality.
  • Perform other daily tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of experience in a supply chain environment, specifically in production, procurement, or logistics.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong analytical skills and a data-driven mindset.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with prior management experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
  • Proven capability to work under pressure.
  • Assertive and collaborative, with the ability to inspire others.
  • Exceptional time management and initiative.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, with OMS knowledge being a plus.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
