UNC Medical Center is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Cardiothoracic ICU team. As a critical care nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Job Summary:This is a 13-week contract position with a 3x12 day shift schedule and 36.00 hours per week. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year of nursing experience and hold a current Registered Nurse License with certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
Responsibilities:- Provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards.
- Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process.
- Participate in identifying and meeting learning needs of self.
- Attend education programs based on identified learning needs.
- Use patient education materials relevant to patient needs.
Assess readiness to learn of the patient/family/caregivers and identify expected patient outcomes. Communicate relevant information to promote continuity of care and demonstrate competence in care of patients with complex problems. Perform bedside point of care testing as required for patient care plan and organize and prioritize care according to patient and family needs.
Requirements:- ADN or ASN from an accredited school of nursing.
- BSN from an accredited school of nursing preferred.
