About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Medical Professional to join our team at Texas Center for Infectious Disease. As a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care services to our community.

Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year (depending on experience)

Job Description:

  • Examine patients, take medical histories, record results, and make preliminary diagnoses or decide on follow-up procedures.
  • Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
  • Administer and order diagnostic tests such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and blood work, and interpret test results.
  • Perform therapeutic procedures such as immunizations, injections, suturing and wound care, and managing infection.
  • Exercise professional judgment regarding consultation with supervising physicians concerning appropriate treatment.
  • Develop and implement patient care plans, instruct and counsel patients, and record progress.
  • Prescribe medications to the extent allowable by state guidelines and clinic regulations.
  • Provide general health education regarding matters such as proper diet, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Physician Assistant Program (for PAs) or Master's degree in Nursing (for NPs).
  • Two years of experience in a clinical setting.
  • State accreditation based on certifying exam.
  • Continued employment requires 100 hours of continuing medical education every two years and passing a recertification examination every six years.
