Job Summary

About the Role

This Advanced Healthcare Professional will work under the direction of a physician, providing health care services to patients. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Examine patients, take medical histories, record results, and make preliminary diagnoses or decide on follow-up procedures.
* Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
* Administer and order diagnostic tests such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and blood work, and interpret test results.
* Perform therapeutic procedures such as immunizations, injections, suturing, and wound care, and manage infections.
* Exercise professional judgment regarding consultation with supervising physicians concerning appropriate treatment.
* Develop and implement patient care plans, instruct, and counsel patients, and record progress.
* Prescribe medications to the extent allowable by state guidelines and clinic regulations.
* Provide general health education regarding matters such as proper diet, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.

Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in a Physician Assistant Program or Master's degree in Nursing (NP).
* Two years of experience in a clinical setting.
* State accreditation based on certifying exam.
* Continued employment requires 100 hours of continuing medical education every two years and passing a recertification examination every six years.
* ENT experience is strongly preferred.
