Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Care Promoter 1, Market Float to join our team. As a key member of our primary care team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our physicians in delivering high-quality medical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Measure and record patient vital signs, and document patient interview and medical history.
  • Catalog and communicate patient needs to the primary care physician, clinician, specialist, and other clinical personnel.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and perform routine screening tests, assist physicians with exams, and explain treatment procedures and physicians' instructions to patients.
  • Observe patients and report any changes in patient conditions to the primary care physician, clinician, specialist, and other clinical personnel.
  • Perform non-critical medical and therapeutic procedures based on medical instructions, collect phlebotomy and other lab specimens, and perform basic waived lab tests.
  • Prepare and administer medications, change dressings, apply bandages, remove sutures, and perform other first aid procedures under physician supervision.
  • Maintain supplies, equipment, stocks, and sterilize instruments, practice OSHA safety standards, and perform accurate, legal, and ethical documentation at all times.
  • Process patient phone messages, return calls, and route them to other team members as appropriate, and call patients to obtain and relay pertinent information for the physician.
  • Upon physician approval and authorization, call in prescriptions to the pharmacy, use communication skills with appropriate medical terminology, and follow appropriate legal and ethical professional conduct.
  • Provide health coaching to a defined group of patients to support healthy lifestyle choices and follow up with coached patients via weekly calls.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and modified at managers' discretion.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent education (GED) required.
  • Graduation from a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program or comparable healthcare vocational training required.
  • A minimum of 1 year of work experience as a Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician, or similar in a hospital, medical clinic, or comparable environment, or documented clinical rotation training can be substituted for work experience.
  • Experience working with geriatric patients is a plus.
  • EMR system experience preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross required within the first 90 days of employment.
