Job Summary

Summit Academy OIC is seeking a highly motivated and experienced GED Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in math and science education, with a passion for teaching adult learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Instruct adult learners in math and science using evidence-based teaching strategies.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans for both online and in-person classes.
  • Monitor student progress and provide individualized support to ensure academic success.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance and assessment results.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching practices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in adult basic education, math, or related field.
  • Current State of Minnesota Teaching License.
  • At least one year of experience teaching adults.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • More than 2 years of teaching experience.
  • Teaching License.
  • Experience teaching online with Canvas, Google Classroom, and/or Zoom.
  • Experience with CampusVue, Campus Nexus or SID data systems.

Work Environment:

This is a full-time, exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). The work environment is a professional office and classroom setting, with occasional remote work-from-home opportunities.

Physical Demands:

This position requires the individual to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time while instructing or doing desk work. The person in this position will frequently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as calculators, copy machines, and printers.
