Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Plant Worker to ensure efficient waste management and facility operations. The ideal candidate will unload waste from vehicles, decontaminate vehicles, and stage waste for scanning and processing. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Unload waste from incoming vehicles and separate non-autoclavable waste for incineration.
  • Stage waste on conveyor systems or properly stack waste for scanning in the Biotrack system.
  • Scan waste into the Biotrack system for recordkeeping purposes.
  • Load autoclave bins or incinerator hoppers with waste for processing.
  • Place reusable containers on tub wash lines for decontamination.
  • Operate tub wash units to ensure proper functioning and remove clean tubs for reuse.
  • Decontaminate vehicle cargo-carrying portions, reload reusable tubs, and ensure vehicles are ready for movement.
  • Address housekeeping issues, such as spills and debris, promptly.
  • Assist in other plant operations as directed.

Education and Experience:

  • One year of related experience or training, demonstrating strong communication skills and tact.
  • Position requires extensive lifting, walking, bending, and pushing. Must be able to lift up to 55 pounds and push/pull carts weighing up to 500 pounds.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of barcode scanning and basic computer skills.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Hazardous Materials and OSHA Regulations.

Desired but not required:

  • Demonstrate the ability to operate a powered industrial truck, such as a forklift.

Additional Requirements:
Safety shoes are required for this position.
