About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and compassionate nurse practitioner to provide high-quality care to patients with cancer. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The Medical Oncology Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for assessing patient needs, developing individualized treatment plans, and providing education and support to patients and their families. This role requires a deep understanding of oncology principles, medications, and treatments, as well as excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the healthcare team
  • Provide comprehensive care to patients with cancer, including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care
  • Conduct thorough physical examinations, take medical histories, and order diagnostic tests as needed
  • Prescribe medications and treatments, as authorized by state laws and hospital policies
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and achieve optimal patient outcomes
Requirements
  • Graduate degree in Nursing from an accredited institution
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the state of North Carolina
  • At least 2 years of experience in oncology nursing, preferably in a medical oncology setting
  • Strong clinical skills, excellent communication skills, and ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
