Senior Systems Engineer

Cadence Design Systems is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our data center infrastructure, with a focus on InfiniBand GPU solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with all projects and repairs throughout the data center, ensuring seamless operations and minimal downtime.
- Participate in an on-call rotation, providing hands-on coverage during maintenance and ensuring prompt issue resolution.
- Design and implement operations that improve workflow, handle equipment layout, and prevent accidents.
- Support operations, including physical layout of equipment, customer deployments, and InfiniBand fabric bring-up and configuration.
- Document existing operational processes, equipment, and procedures, ensuring accurate and up-to-date knowledge.
- Utilize monitoring tools, escalate key issues, and ensure timely service implementation.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, install, and repair software, hardware, and components, including networking equipment and servers.
- Configure Terminal Servers for out-of-band management and manage daily issues, including daily health checks of servers and processes.
- Install and maintain servers and networking equipment, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Interact with onsite staff and vendors for hardware replacement, delivery, and diagnostics.
- Experience with cluster bring-up, drivers, and loading.
- Experience with GPU end-to-end testing in a cluster with InfiniBand.
- Experience with setup of GPU servers in a cluster.
- Proficiency in Linux environments and shell scripting.
- Excellent data center organization skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with fiber and copper network cabling, including IP and SAN deployments.
- Ability to maintain acceptable ticket loads and incident SLAs.
- Ability to move 50+ pounds.
