Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

McLean Hospital, a leading psychiatric hospital, seeks a skilled Patient Care Specialist to join its multidisciplinary team. As a Nurse Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive psychiatric and medical care to patients. Your expertise will be invaluable in assessing, diagnosing, and treating mental health conditions, as well as managing medications and monitoring medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough psychiatric and medical assessments to develop effective treatment plans.
- Provide psychopharmacological treatment, including prescribing medications and monitoring their effectiveness.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and community-based healthcare organizations.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research, best practices, and treatment guidelines in psychiatric nursing.
Requirements:
- A current, unrestricted national nurse practitioner board licensure with prescriptive authority.
- Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited National League of Nursing graduate school.
- Board certification as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP).
- Minimum of 24 months experience in an adult inpatient psychiatric setting or related experience.
- Experience in an Emergency Room is required.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
