Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Senior Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at the Alexander "Sandy" Nininger State Veterans' Nursing Home in Pembroke Pines, Florida.

The Florida Department of Veterans' Affairs is dedicated to serving those who have served the United States. Our nursing home provides high-quality care to veteran residents, ensuring their health, safety, and security.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide quality care to resident veterans, adhering to established agency Standard Operating Procedures and the Nurse Practice Act.
  2. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  3. Maintain accurate clinical documentation of resident needs and treatment.
  4. Supervise Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and other supportive caregivers.
  5. Evaluate and document patient condition and nursing needs.
Requirements
  • Licensed as a Practical Nurse in the state of Florida.
  • Certified in Basic Life Support (CPR).
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Successful completion of the due diligence process, including a Level II background check and drug test.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year of experience providing practical nursing services in a long-term healthcare environment.
  • Knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
