Job Summary:
The Washington County Public Schools is seeking a qualified Lunch Assistant to provide supervision of students while eating lunch and during playground period. This is a temporary employment position that requires a high level of responsibility and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise students in the cafeteria and on the playground, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment, including wiping tables and disposing of trash.
- Assist with lunch distribution, including handing out condiments and helping students with trays.
- Help students with dismissal, guiding them in an orderly fashion from the cafeteria to the classroom.
- Work cooperatively with other staff members to foster a positive and supportive work environment.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated ability to work successfully with students and adults.
- Ability to supervise students and maintain a safe and orderly environment.
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.

This is a temporary employment position that is not entitled to the rights governed by the Negotiated Agreement between the Board of Education and the Washington County Teachers Association, Inc. or the Negotiated Agreement between the Washington County Educational Support Personnel. Temporary employees are paid on the hourly rate established at the time of their employment. Temporary employees are not guaranteed employment or any specific number of hours.
