Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team at Verity CPAs. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for performing day-to-day full-charge bookkeeping duties for clients' accounting needs and records transactions within established systems and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Verify and enter details of transactions as they occur in computerized accounting systems.
  2. Prepare monthly financial statements accurately and timely, using a computer software program.
  3. Prepare appropriate schedules and reports as requested.
  4. Handle daily accounting mail, including notices and disbursements.
  5. Prepare payroll and all payroll tax returns on a timely basis.
  6. Prepare bank reconciliations monthly.
  7. Research accounts payable and accounts receivable issues as needed.
  8. Communicate regularly with clients, serving as the main point of contact for client requests.
  9. Maintain and update client-specific procedures for the firm.
Requirements
  1. A minimum of five (5) years of responsible accounting or bookkeeping experience related to a computerized accounting system, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and financial reports.
  2. Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism.
  3. Ability to operate a calculator, computer, and other general office equipment.
  4. Knowledge of regulatory requirements of processing payroll accounting transactions and payroll returns.
  5. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing, in English.
  6. Works with confidential firm and personnel matters, requires ability to keep matters confidential.
  7. Ability to prepare individual and business tax returns (preferred).

This is a non-remote position.
