Job Summary:
The Physician Assistant Surgical Oncology position at University Hospital, Newark NJ, is responsible for assisting licensed physicians in direct patient care, obtaining and recording medical data, providing counseling and patient education, and performing tasks delegated by physicians.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed physician.
- Obtain and record medical data, including patient history, physical examination, and laboratory results.
- Provide counseling and patient education on medical conditions, treatments, and self-care.
- Perform tasks delegated by physicians, such as administering medications and performing procedures.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Health Science or a related field.
- Graduation from a Physician Assistants Program approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
- Certification from the National Commission for Certification by Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- New Jersey Licensed from the State Board of Medical Examiners-Physician Advisory committee.
- Prior experience in clinical medicine is preferred.
Requirements:
- BLS, ACLS, and ATLS certifications required.
