About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Civil Design Engineer to join our team at SME. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for leading and managing civil design projects from concept to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Oversee the development of site/civil plans and specifications for land development and redevelopment projects, including grading plans, utility plans, and stormwater management design.
  • Design and Permitting: Review and ensure compliance with Local, County, State, and National design standards, plan requirements, permit requirements, zoning ordinances, and standard details for authorities having jurisdiction.
  • Client Communication: Establish and maintain relationships with clients, regulatory agencies, and project stakeholders to discuss design/permitting requirements and resolve questions.
  • Team Collaboration: Coordinate with project management and field engineering teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Problem-Solving: Utilize problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex construction challenges.
Requirements
  • Experience: 7 to 10 years of experience in civil design engineering, preferably with a focus on site development.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in the latest versions of AutoCAD Civil 3D and strong knowledge of civil site development, including site layout, grading, and underground infrastructure.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and supervisors.
