Role Summary

As a Front Desk Representative, you will be one of the first points of contact for our guests, and your warm, genuine demeanor will help create a welcoming atmosphere during their arrival. The ideal candidate will adapt their service style based on guest interactions to ensure a comfortable and personalized check-in experience. At Hampton Inn, we value every team member as a key contributor, someone who can identify unique aspects that make our hotel special and share engaging insights about the local area.

Regardless of your position, several core principles are essential for success: maintaining a safe work environment, adhering to company policies and procedures, ensuring a neat and professional appearance, safeguarding guest confidentiality, complying with quality assurance standards, and protecting company resources. The role of a Front Desk Representative involves being active and engaged (standing or walking for extended periods) and taking a hands-on approach to tasks (lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing items weighing up to 20 pounds without assistance). Excelling in these responsibilities, along with other tasks that arise, forms the foundation of this role. Ultimately, the hallmark of a Front Desk Representative is delivering an outstanding guest experience, inspiring both guests and colleagues to embrace life’s adventures.

Key Qualifications

  • Flexible availability for various shifts (open 24 hours/day), including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Effective verbal communication skills with guests and team members.
  • Proficient computer and telephone skills.
  • Accurate handling of transactions.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as pushing, pulling, bending, and reaching.
  • Familiarity with cleaning agents.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and sales acumen.
  • Consistently practice the Essentials of Exceptional Hosting.
  • Manage guest check-ins and check-outs, complete daily tasks, and track guest correspondence.
  • Assist with reservation management and cancellation processing.
  • Provide guests with information about hotel services, directions, room rates, and amenities.
  • Explain TDD operations to guests as needed.

Compensation

Salary is negotiable based on experience.

Educational Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
