Job Summary:

Avery Dennison is seeking a highly skilled Process Controls Engineer to lead our plant's DCS system and drive automation excellence. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining data acquisition system standards and best practices, managing the Mill Hall controls assessment program, and leading the automation design and implementation of new equipment and technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Expertise: Serve as a process expert and lead for the plant DCS system, ensuring seamless operation and optimal performance.
  • Standard Development: Develop and maintain data acquisition system standards and best practices, driving consistency and efficiency across the organization.
  • Controls Assessment: Manage the Mill Hall controls assessment program to identify and close gaps on obsolete hardware and software, ensuring compliance and reducing risk.
  • Automation Design: Lead the automation design and implementation of new equipment and technologies, driving innovation and improving process efficiency.
  • Training and Development: Lead training for operations, maintenance, and engineering on new automated processes and equipment, ensuring a skilled and knowledgeable workforce.
  • Project Management: Serve as project manager or project consultant for major automation/controls upgrades, ensuring successful project delivery and minimal disruption to operations.
  • Troubleshooting: Provide troubleshooting support to operations and maintenance, resolving issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Security: Provide cross-functional support to ensure the security of the control system, protecting against cyber threats and ensuring data integrity.
  • Safety: Promote safety as the most important value in the organization, contributing through training, process improvements, and other EHS responsibilities, and following all aspects of the site Process Safety Management (PSM) system.
  • Capital Planning: Assist in development of capital plans to support the site controls strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and resource allocation.
