Ideal Candidates:
The Physician Assistants within our Cardiothoracic Surgery division are essential to delivering high-quality patient care. Responsibilities encompass first assisting in cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures, cardiac assist device implantation, and endoscopic vein harvesting.
The Physician Assistant will engage in patient history documentation, conduct physical assessments, perform diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, develop treatment plans, monitor patient responses, and provide education to patients.
Additional Highlights:
- Primary responsibility for surgical first assisting
- Enhanced autonomy in clinical practice
- Participation in a call rotation with evening on-call duties during weekdays and weekends
- Weekend patient rounds as part of on-call duties
- No in-house call obligations
- Dedicated Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner for perioperative patient management
- Minimum of two years of experience in cardiothoracic surgery is required
