Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team at Albany Medical Center. As a Physician Assistant, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with our medical team to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage patients, including ordering diagnostic tests, consultations, and therapeutic interventions.
  • Provide comprehensive healthcare services, including assessment, diagnosing, prescribing, and referrals as needed.
  • Augment the physician's ability to provide medical services, collect and document data, conduct diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and provide direct patient care services.
  • Staff our outpatient addiction medicine clinic and coordinate care for inpatient consult services.
  • Collaborate with attending physicians to provide clinical support and education for providers caring for patients with opioid use disorder.
  • Complete accurate patient coding for effective billing, maintain accurate and detailed patient medical reports, and maintain inventory of medical supplies and instruments.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of anatomy, principles of neurology, microbiology, physiology, psychology, human disabilities, pharmacology, gerontology, human growth and development, human developmental disease, and medical terminology.
  • Ability to conduct patient assessments, complete physical examinations, collect clinical data, and order and interpret medical laboratory test results.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
