Nurse Practitioner

The Nurse Practitioner provides high-quality patient care in designated care settings, including acute, short and long-term care, by assisting physicians, assessing patients, and treating injuries and ailments.
Key Responsibilities- Obtains a thorough medical history from patients and performs examinations and assessments to determine patient needs.
- Analyzes and interprets information collected from patients, medical records, symptoms, physical findings, or diagnostic information to develop and establish appropriate diagnoses.
- Formulates treatment plans and prescribes medications based on efficacy, safety, and cost to aid recovery and manage pain.
- Maintains complete and detailed records of patients' health care plans and prognoses in a timely manner.
- Consults with or refers patients to appropriate specialists when conditions exceed the scope of practice or expertise.
- Provides patients with information needed to promote health, reduce risk factors, or prevent disease or disability.
- Completion of a master's, postmaster's, or doctorate from an accredited nurse practitioner program.
- Current licensure by the applicable state board of nursing for advanced practice.
- Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe controlled substances.
- Certified Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP-BC) or (A-GNP) or (AGACNP-BC) or (ACNPC-AG) or Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (NP-C) or (FNP-BC).
