Job Summary

Hurt & Proffitt, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Survey Crew Member to join our team in Blacksburg. As an entry-level position, this role offers opportunities for growth and development in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain surveying equipment, including levels, rods, and transits, to ensure accurate data collection.
  • Perform physical tasks such as digging holes, clearing brush, and lifting heavy equipment as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with survey team members to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Adhere to safety procedures and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Transport equipment and supplies, and perform routine maintenance to ensure surveying equipment is in good working condition.
  • Work in various weather conditions and traverse rough terrain, including wooded and forested areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the survey party chief or project manager.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with a survey team.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and ability to adhere to safety guidelines.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Valid Virginia driver's license with a good driving history.
