WORK SCHEDULE: Standard hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am-5:30pm, with the possibility of flexible hours as required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and maintain network systems in both data center and corporate environments.
- Manage and troubleshoot network firewall and switch devices.
- Identify and resolve network, firewall, and infrastructure issues, providing support as needed.
- Oversee firewall and switch settings, ensuring operating systems are up to date.
- Evaluate service stacks and recommend improvements.
- Plan and execute network infrastructure projects, emphasizing availability, scalability, and security in line with service level agreements.
- Discover opportunities for process automation and increased efficiency.
- Communicate effectively to ensure alignment with stakeholder and development requirements.
- Thrive in a fast-paced production environment focused on results.
QUALIFICATIONS
- At least one year of experience managing firewalls and network switches.
- Experience with upgrades and backups of networking equipment.
- Proficient in analyzing firewall traffic logs.
- Familiarity with Python, Bash, and best practices in network design.
- Knowledge of SNMP, DNS, NTP, and TLS/SSL protocols.
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Network+ and Security+.
- Cisco certifications including CCNA and CCNP.
- Palo Alto Networks certifications like PCNSA and PCNSE.
- Experience with DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering methodologies.
- Skills in configuring Palo Alto Networks and Barracuda Firewalls, as well as VPNs.
- Expertise in Cisco IOS and NX-OS, including vPC.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools such as Splunk, Nagios, and SolarWinds.
- Demonstrated ability to meet service level agreement requirements.
