The primary objective of this role is to provide exceptional customer service and clinical expertise to patients by filling prescriptions, offering healthcare guidance, and supervising pharmacy associates.
This position requires frequent independent judgments and a strong commitment to upholding the core values and service attributes of the Rite Aid brand.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the accuracy and appropriateness of all prescriptions filled by completing Drug Utilization Review and Final Quality Assurance, adhering to state and federal Board of Pharmacy regulations.
- Drive business growth and script expansion through recommended clinical programs, including immunizations and MTM (Medication Therapy Management), DCS (Diabetes Care Specialist), and other identified programs.
- Provide top-notch customer service by assisting patients with medical-related issues and offering healthcare counseling.
- Supervise the work of support staff while on duty and assist with training, coaching, and managing pharmacy associates as needed.
- Maintain the security of the Pharmacy department and comply with HIPAA and all other applicable federal and state laws and regulations.
- Handle and resolve customer issues, complaints, and questions to build customer trust and loyalty.
- Interact with physicians and utilize reference materials to gain information on patients and prescriptions and to resolve any issues that arise.
- Assist with maintaining the Pharmacy department by keeping it clean and organized.
- Prioritize Pharmacy Department tasks and ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner, including cycle counts, inventory management, and will-calls to customers.
- Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in Pharmacy or Doctoral degree (PHARM.D.).
- Immunization Certification through an accredited organization (i.e. APhA).
- Active Pharmacist license in good standing in the state for which you are applying.
