Job OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our Neonatology team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care to newborns and their families.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and manage various birth-related issues, including prematurity, low birth weight, birth defects, and infections.
  • Consult with other healthcare professionals and provide critical information to parents and families.
  • Make informed decisions in the assessment, diagnosis, management, and evaluation of the health care needs of infants at risk.
  • Develop, document, and communicate effective plans of care, ensuring complete screening and preparation of patients.
  • Conduct daily patient rounds, making necessary adjustments to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Order medications, laboratory work, and diagnostic tests as needed.
  • Analyze laboratory and test results, identifying areas for further investigation or treatment.
  • Collaborate with attending physicians, residents, nursing staff, and other care providers to ensure optimal quality of patient care.
  • Document discharge summaries, prescriptions, and referrals for post-discharge care.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year


Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree required; Graduate degree preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program required.
  • Experience working in the NICU required.
  • Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant by the state's Department of Education required.
  • NCCPA Certification from the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants required.
  • Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required.
  • New York State Physician Assistant registration with prescription privileges required.
