Position Overview

As a vital member of our healthcare team, the Vascular Ultrasound Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establishes testing protocols based on the examination's objectives.
  • Communicates procedures clearly to patients and assists them in achieving optimal positioning for the ultrasound.
  • Selects appropriate transducers and adjusts equipment settings in accordance with the specific requirements of each test.
  • Inputs patient data and test results into the electronic medical record system, ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Conducts ultrasound examinations, maneuvering the transducer over the designated body areas while monitoring the ultrasound display for image quality.
  • Records diagnostic findings on various media, including digital formats and printouts.
  • Creates permanent records of ultrasound results for future reference.
  • Regularly inspects and maintains ultrasound equipment to guarantee its proper functionality.
  • Performs additional tasks as assigned within the professional scope.

Qualifications and Educational Background:

  • A minimum of one (1) year of relevant clinical experience.
  • Certification as a Registered Vascular Technologist is mandatory.
  • Completion of an accredited medical sonography program is required.
  • Clinical experience that qualifies for registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
  • Successful completion of the ARDMS examination is essential.
