Aquatic Sports Mentor

We are seeking a passionate individual to become part of our organization as an Aquatic Sports Mentor, working closely with the Head Coach. This position requires involvement in swim team practices and competitions, with a commitment to evening and weekend availability.

• Deliver engaging and consistent training sessions for swimmers of all abilities.
• Attend practices and weekend competitions.
• Assist in the planning and execution of training sessions as directed by the Head Coach.
• Exhibit a professional attitude that aligns with the YMCA's mission.
• Connect with swimmers to understand and support their aspirations.
• Fulfill additional responsibilities as necessary.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• No previous experience is required; comprehensive training will be provided on-site.

• Manage registration and billing processes for team participants.
• Oversee attendance and team roster.
• Communicate effectively with parents.
• Assist in the coordination of team events and competitions.

Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications

• Ability to interact effectively both physically and verbally.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs when necessary.

Work Environment:

• Work settings may involve moderate to high noise levels.
• Availability for evening and weekend shifts, with occasional early morning responsibilities.
• Travel to various practice and competition locations.

Required Training/Certifications:

• Child Abuse Prevention Training
• Workplace Respect Training
• CPR, First Aid, and Oxygen Administration
• Competitive Swimming and Diving Fundamentals
• USA Swimming Certification
• Safety Training for Coaches or YMCA Lifeguarding Certification

Familiarity with Customer Relations Management software and TeamUnify is advantageous but not essential.
