Job Overview

Position Summary

The Production Operations Specialist serves as a vital connection between the scheduling team and the production management. This position entails developing and upholding a comprehensive timetable that aligns customer requirements, material supply, and production capabilities. Core responsibilities encompass overseeing the material flow to guarantee uninterrupted production, promptly addressing fluctuations in demand, and diligently tracking the implementation of the production strategy. The Production Operations Specialist is committed to achieving production goals effectively while upholding superior quality standards and minimizing operational delays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Continuously monitors, evaluates, and reports on production efficiency and potential operational challenges.
  • Adjusts production timelines as necessary due to workforce or material shortages or to accommodate unforeseen circumstances.
  • Identifies, suggests, and implements corrective measures to resolve production and scheduling challenges.
  • Accountable for establishing production timelines, taking into account customer demands, current capacity, and collaboration with the production team.
  • Strives to meet financial targets for revenue and timely delivery.
  • Guides the procurement team regarding material expedites and optimal order quantities to ensure material readiness.
  • Maintains departmental performance metrics and reporting.
  • Engages in company-wide Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinates production schedules, factoring in customer demands, existing capacity, and collaboration with production.
  • Regularly interacts with shop floor management to address issues and fulfill daily production objectives.
  • Works diligently to meet established revenue and delivery targets.
  • Monitors and manages all outstanding orders, possessing a thorough understanding of the assigned backlog.
  • Maintains the production schedule and additional reports as necessary.
  • Follows up with all teams to expedite the flow of materials and documentation to meet production schedules and customer expectations.
  • Performs other administrative tasks as assigned by the planning team.
  • Oversees the shipment of materials across various manufacturing locations.
  • Executes other administrative duties as directed by the planning team.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • High School diploma; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Proficient in computer applications, especially Excel.
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical abilities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Capable of managing time and prioritizing tasks effectively.
