Position Overview:
ESG Consulting, Inc is looking for a Senior Linux Infrastructure Engineer to architect and develop Linux operating system frameworks. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in traditional Linux/Unix settings along with robust automation capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, configure, and oversee Linux environments.
  • Manage Red Hat/Oracle Enterprise Linux and various other Linux operating systems.
  • Automate deployment and configuration processes.
  • Support server provisioning in a virtualized environment.
  • Administer WebLogic, Tomcat, and JBoss installations.
  • Plan and execute Disaster Recovery strategies for Linux servers.
  • Ensure compliance with change management and auditing standards.
  • Configure essential services including Postfix, DNS, NTPD, SSH, and LVM.
  • Conduct quarterly server patch management.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation and system diagrams.
  • Assist in Unix/Linux backup operations utilizing Commvault.
  • Develop and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for change and configuration management.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of experience in Linux system administration.
  • Proficiency with automation tools such as Puppet, Chef, or Ansible.
  • Experience in scripting/programming with languages like Bash, Korn, Perl, or Python.
  • Familiarity with VMware virtualization management.
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP, routing, and networking tools.
  • Knowledge of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
