About the Role

Touro University Nevada is seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to serve as a Dissertation Advisor for our School of Education. As a key member of our faculty team, you will play a critical role in guiding students through their dissertation journey, providing expert guidance and support to ensure their success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Mentoring: Provide instruction and guidance to dissertation students in assigned capstone courses, ensuring they meet the required milestones and standards.
  • Dissertation Milestone Support: Guide students through each dissertation milestone deliverable, ensuring compliance with template and rubric criteria, and providing formative and summative feedback.
  • Student Support and Guidance: Be available to meet with students through phone, Zoom, or other sources to assist them in completing dissertation milestone documents, and participate in virtual review sessions during summer intensive sessions.
  • Proposal and Manuscript Support: Prepare and support students for proposal and manuscript oral defenses, and counsel and advise dissertation students through committee member feedback to meet University dissertation requirements.
  • Faculty Collaboration: Participate in faculty-directed activities integral to the university system, and meet with the Director of the School of Education on student milestone completion progress and report issues, concerns, and successes.
  • Curriculum Development: Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the curriculum that conforms with the Programs mission, goals, and objectives.
Qualifications
  • Education: EdD or PhD from a US accredited college or university.
  • Experience: Three years of dissertation chair experience (online preferred), five years of dissertation committee experience (online preferred), teaching experience at the University level preferred online course instruction, and multi-disciplinary experience in student dissertation development.
  • Skills and Abilities: Strong oral and written communication skills, established leadership and supervisory skills, computer skills, including Microsoft Office, strong APA 7th knowledge, flexible, resilient, and uplifting demeanor, excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and situational awareness.
