Job Title: State Opioid Response Prevention Program Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated State Opioid Response Prevention Program Coordinator to join our team at the State of Nebraska. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the field of public health and substance abuse prevention.

About the Role:

The State Opioid Response Prevention Program Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating multiple projects and programs under the State Opioid Response Grant, including the No Cost Naloxone Program. This role will involve strategic planning, implementation, and monitoring of initiatives to increase program knowledge and reduce opioid-related overdose mortality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and monitor contracts related to the State Opioid Response Grant
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to increase program knowledge and reduce opioid-related overdose mortality
  • Create a naloxone distribution and saturation plan focused on areas in Nebraska with high rates of overdose mortality
  • Provide training and technical assistance to program partners and community sectors on the recognition of opioid overdose and appropriate use of naloxone and other opioid overdose reversal medications
  • Develop and prepare documents for submission of required federal and state reporting, including grant writing, needs assessments, and evaluation
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, social/behavioral sciences, health sciences, public health, education, law, or a related field
  • Experience in grant writing, contract management, or leading community-based health/social care groups
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Knowledge of naloxone (Narcan) and implementation science and applied research in prevention programming
  • Fiscal management skills and knowledge of primary prevention strategies
