Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Press Operator to join our team at Lee Enterprises. As a Press Operator, you will play a vital role in the production of our newspapers and print products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain press components and controls to ensure efficient production.
  • Grasp a thorough understanding of every facet of the pressroom and maintain a commitment to quality.
  • Work within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment to meet production demands.
  • Perform manual tasks such as pushing rolls, loading pasters, and guiding press webs.
  • Fill color inks, stir ink, and monitor ink feed functions to printing units.
  • Clean press, pipe rollers, and press cylinder blankets with cleaning solvents and wipes up any ink spills.
  • Set up and maintain the operation of presses before and during press runs.
  • Handle routine job tasks on a day-to-day basis, maintaining accuracy while meeting deadlines.
  • Responsible for tracking and logging in to Abinet system for consumption.
Requirements
  • Ability to follow all Company policies and procedures, including attendance standards.
  • Mechanical skill is helpful.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact personally and by telephone with staff, other departments, and other employees of the organization professionally.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions, short correspondences, and memos.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Press or printing experience preferred, but not required.
