Industrial Engineering Internship Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Industrial Engineering intern to join our team at Carlisle IT. As an Industrial Engineering intern, you will work closely with our Production and Quality groups to optimize throughput in various operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in creating/updating Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documents at various operations.
  • Help develop a training program for crews in production operations.
  • Participate in and follow up on Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS), Hazard, and Ergonomic Analysis Audits.
  • Conduct throughput optimization work at the Extruder, ASBM, and Conventional vulcanizers.
  • Assist in short sheet analysis at the Clean Sheet Winders.
  • Perform throughput and gauge analysis work at the ERH.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce downtime and changeover time at the slitter and fleece operations.
  • Investigate the F370 Mixer capacity of white versus black rubber stock.
Requirements:
  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Science, or Chemistry.
  • Background and interest in rubber (or plastics) processing & equipment are preferred.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA required.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work an 8-hour day.
  • Proficiency in Excel to build data analysis spreadsheets and charts.
