About this Position:

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Field Technician to join our team at N C Machinery, a leading Caterpillar dealership in Central and Western Washington, Central and Eastern Montana, Northwestern Wyoming, Northwestern North Dakota, and the state of Alaska.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and repair heavy equipment, including removing, repairing, assembling, and installing components.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot engines, powertrains, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience with CAT diagnostic equipment, CAT repair tooling, rigging, and blocking equipment.
  • Plan and organize tasks with a focus on controlling job costs.
  • Investigate, analyze, and identify problems to recommend solutions.
Requirements:
  • A high school degree or equivalent, or a graduate of a 2-4 year vocational technical school training institution or equivalent experience.
  • A valid driver's license for potential forklift driving and operation of equipment such as hydraulic and mechanical presses, hoists, cranes, pressure washers, etc.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Outlook).
  • Ability to stand for up to eight hours per day and perform tasks that involve twisting, bending, squatting, sitting, stooping, and kneeling.
  • Flexibility to travel for extended periods to work with customers.
  • Experience working at a Caterpillar dealership or with CAT products is ideal.
