Job Title: Maintenance Technician I

About the Role:

UniFirst is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician I to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our industrial equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on industrial equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Utilize hand and power tools, precision measurement tools, and electronic testing devices to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Ensure safe operation of machinery and equipment, adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Follow blueprints, schematics, and operation manuals to perform maintenance and repairs.
  • Perform daily and weekly safety checks on equipment and systems, identifying and addressing any concerns.
  • Record and analyze meter readings of utilities, taking corrective actions when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership, including training and development of new team members.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; two-year technical degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 months' work experience in a production environment, with experience in maintenance equipment and systems.
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record required.
  • Knowledge of maintenance equipment and systems, including mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics, as well as maintenance literature printed in English.
  • Basic computer and Microsoft Office skills required.
  • Lockout/Tagout experience required.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed and lift up to 80 lbs.
