PostgreSQL Database Administrator

At Diverse Lynx LLC, we are seeking a skilled PostgreSQL Database Administrator to join our team. As a PostgreSQL DBA, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our PostgreSQL databases to ensure performance, security, and data integrity.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of PostgreSQL fundamentals, including SQL syntax and querying, data types, tables, indexes, and constraints. They will also have experience with database design and modeling, performance tuning and optimization, backup and recovery, security and access control, replication and high availability, and monitoring and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities will include installation and configuration of PostgreSQL databases, designing and implementing database schema, indexes, and constraints, monitoring and optimizing database performance, queries, and indexing, developing and implementing backup and recovery strategies, implementing security measures, managing user access, and monitoring database activity, identifying and resolving database issues, errors, and conflicts, performing routine maintenance tasks, setting up and managing replication, failover, and high-availability solutions, monitoring database performance, setting up alerts, and notifying teams of issues, and maintaining documentation on database design, configuration, and procedures.

Additionally, the successful candidate will have experience working with business customers gathering requirements and providing analysis and programming support on integration of these customer requirements into existing software, working on new Unix Shell Scripts for batch processing jobs, working and writing PL/SQL scripts, working and writing Perl scripts to analyze logs, writing SQL scripts for data clean up, involving in code review and test cases review, providing technical support for the project, and having knowledge in Mulesoft integration is a plus.

The skill set needed for this role includes SQL and PostgreSQL fundamentals, database design and modeling, performance tuning and optimization, backup and recovery, security and access control, replication and high availability, monitoring and troubleshooting, scripting and automation, and familiarity with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, and Perl.
